A Brief Biography
John Bunce Jr
I look forward to having the honor of serving the Greater Rochester American Orff Schulwerk Association as a board member, should that honor be given to me. What follows is a brief summary of my history in music making and music education.
Ø Music teacher since 1989
Ø Past districts include Avon and West Irondequoit.
Ø Currently teaching in the Rochester City School District (since 1993)
Ø Music Director for Guardian Angels Church (since 1995)
Ø Currently a member of GRAOSA and AOSA.
Ø Orff Level I completed in 1999
Ø Orff Level II completed in 2000
Ø Performed in a local band (1990)
Ø Recorded with local artists (1977 and 2009)
Sheila Sullivan Buck has been teaching vocal/general music for 15 years, most of them at Crane Elementary School in Rush-Henrietta. She completed 3 Levels of Orff-Schulwerk Teacher Training at the Eastman School of Music along with many other
post-graduate classes. Active in local music educaton, Ms Buck is a past president, vice president and treasurer of the Greater Rochester American Orff-Schulwerk Association, has been the MCSMA Elementary All-County Chorus Coordinator and has presented at GRAOSA sharing seesions and at NYSSMA Winter Conferences. As a soloist she has been heard across New York State, and Ms. Buck sings regularly with the Mercury Opera Rochester Chorus. She holds a M. Ed. from Roberts Wesleyan College and a B. Mus. in Vocal Performance, summa cum laude, with Honors, from Syracuse University.
