Greater Rochester American Orff-Schulwerk Association
About GRAOSA The Greater Rochester American Orff Schulwerk Association (GRAOSA) is a local chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association. GRAOSA and AOSA strive to bring quality workshops to music teachers throughout Western, Central and Northern New York. Our presenters represent our belief in excellence. All music and classroom teachers are welcome to attend our workshops and need not become members of GRAOSA or AOSA in order to participate. We believe that music education is vital to the education of children. Music teachers must be skillful musicians in order to teach effectively. We offer workshops to the music education community to support the professional development of music teachers.
GRAOSA and COMEA
Now that the New York State Orff chapters are considered a part of COMEA, members of the NY Orff chapters may attend the NYS Summer Music Conference at the sponsoring member registration price. This is a substantial savings. To take advantage of this registration price you must register by mail and send a copy of your chapter membership card with your registration. Information on the summer conference may be found on www.nyssma.org. The conference will take place in Albany, August 19-21. Mary Knysh is the elementary classroom music headliner and Elizabeth Mitchell a world renowned children’s folk singer is the keynote speaker. In addition there are many other presenters giving sessions on a wide variety of topics. Graduate and in-service credit is available. This conference is an excellent professional development opportunity. We hope to see you there! Donna Basile Orff Liaison for COMEA
